We purchased a carpet for $3500 this fall in Kusadasi from Kusadasi Carpet, also known as Galeri 44 or Ersel Ozturk. They sent us a different, much cheaper carpet. We have pictures of the orignal salesman and our carpet in the shop as we purchased it. Owner Orhan Diskaya talked to us by phone and admitted it was the wrong carpet, he said they accidentally sent ours to the wrong person and he told us he'd refund our money and tell us where to return the carpet. However, now we can get no reply by phone or e-mail, and their credit card company refuses to refund our money. They were in Orient Bazar No. 7/D and 10. Does anyone know how we can get them to reply to us and return this carpet for a refund, as they promised to do? I would recommend not purchasing expensive carpets from any store that is not approved by a cruiseline or similar business. Can anyone please help us? If you are at the Bazar, stop in and ask Orhan DIskaya or Mehmet Yokus to reply to the family in Illinois that is stuck with a cheap carpet which arrived by UPS from New York. They ruin business for honest merchants when tourists cannot trust them.

It's definitely true that these kind of events ruin business for decent men trying to hold on. I have been living here for almost 10 years now and hearing these kind of stuff, that a few bad apples ruin the rest, upsets me. Anyhow, I think it is a known company that caused you this truble, not that I know myself but,it is not difficult to find out if it has a bad reputation. I'm sure some of my local friends can help you to at least contact them. After all it is small town..
So, I will write back as soon as I hear from them and I hope it will turn good for you and for honest merchants of the town....
